On The Issues
I was born in Alaska and grew up in Apple Valley, MN. I’ve also lived in different parts of MN including Moorhead and Morris. My family and I moved to the City of Ramsey in 2012 and have loved it! Ramsey has great walking trails and parks which I enjoy with my wife and three children ages 11, 14 and 18.
Family: Our family has been active in Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association (ARAA) with my son playing baseball. My daughters performed at Dance Revue in Ramsey for a few years. Our children have attended Ramsey Elementary, been homeschooled and have spent several years at PACT Charter School in Ramsey.
Leadership Experience: I have had the honor to represent Ward 3 in Ramsey as a City Council member since 2019. At PACT Charter School I was elected to the school board. During my second year, I was elected and served as Chair of the PACT Charter School Board. Prior to that, I served as Chair of the Elementary Steering Committee. I have also been an active volunteer at my church.
Education: I attended St. Cloud State University and then transferred to the University of MN-Morris, where I graduated with a BA in Elementary Teaching and Political Science. In high school I was part of the first class to attend the School of Environmental Studies built on the Minnesota Zoo grounds.
Professional Experience: I work from my home in Ramsey, doing computer support and consulting for a company out of Ohio called Velosio. Prior to that I worked for Microsoft for over nine years. I bring an experience-based perspective on the importance of listening to the customer and bringing in a multiple of perspectives to achieve a stronger solution. I also understand the importance of strong internet reliability and utilities. Prior to working at Microsoft, I was an Elementary School teacher. I understand the importance of education.
Community Experience: Over the past few years, I have volunteered for the local winning campaigns of Abigail Whelan, John Heinrich and Jim Abeler. We are members of The Edge Christian Fellowship church.
